David Koresh was an American Cult leader who was the head of the religious movement, Branch of Davidians. Koresh believed that he was the “final prophet” sent to bring the word of God to his followers by whatever means necessary, even if it meant pitting his followers against the US government in what would be the biggest gunfire on American soil since the Civil War. David Koresh’s central role in the 51-day siege occurring in Waco, Texas left four ATF agents dead as well as 82 cult members, with 76 of them along with Koresh perishing in a massive fire that engulfed the compound. So, what makes a religious man turn to a deadly cult leader.
