Sinister Crimes and Cocktails: A True Crime Podcast
Episode 181: A Righteous or Wrongful Execution
In 1978, Georgia animus for its climate of racism during this time was in the middle of two separate killing sprees that intersected one another. One was that of the Stocking Strangler, believed to be a black man who targeted elderly white women and the other belonged to United States Army Specialist William Henry Hance who was stationed at Fort Benning on the Georgia-Alabama border. Between 1977 and 1978, Hance murdered three women near or at Fort Benning and sent taunting letters to the local authorities attempting to blame the crimes on an organization known as the Forces of Evil. So, was William Henry Hance born a killer or made into one?
